Sorethroat and...

Dang, i'm having sorethroat, a real bad one...literally i can feel the "flame" inside =(
hmm, i guess it should be the McD apple and banana pies i had yesterday.
i shall not talk unless i really HAVE to...haihz, i need strepsils badly.
anyway, we have done with our labs, therefore from this point onwards we will have full concentration on our syllabus, which is a good thing since the finals are like....a month away! *gasp*

anyway, some random and quite out-dated pics i should have post earlier but due to, you know...? laziness =p
taken during the awards presentation thingy..in the mph (multi-purpose hall)

a partial group pic as not everyone is inside... taken with the principal in his office
finally, a pic of my new genetics lecturer, told you he's young =p

my preparation for the plant tissue culture, the centrifuge tubes (blue-capped) contain the callus induction medium needed for the culture. heck, guess how many tubes i've prepared? 50!!

i've prepared some sterilizing and liquid medium solutions tooYEAH! after hours of hard work...okay, ignore the "chan" look of mine (lab ma, what do you expect?) oh yea, about the steel-made baskets right, they are actually meant for carrying all the tubes and bottles which are going to be autoclaved around 121 degree celcius in the autoclave machine.

didn't take any pic during the plant tissue culture, but these are the final products, each of us have 4 tubes of our own callus plants such as carrot, 2 cauliflower (1 contains the sodium hypochloride sterilizing agent another one contains...err, forgot jor, let me check when i go back to the lab, hehe..), and leaf callus.

did i mention my finger got burned while doing the culture? gosh, i guess those people did the culture before my turn had place the beaker containing 95% ethanol (for sterilizing the scapel and forceps) too near to the bunsen burner until the ethanol was caught into flame. we couldn't really see the flame but both the scapels and forceps were like burning hot as they were being soaked inside the ethanol...so by the time i wanted to take out the scapel...

OUCH!!!! walao....pain like hell...so i proceeded the experiment after the sensation eased a bit =(
haiz...labs are so dangerous!

materials..and more materials...most of the time we need to go over to bio or chemistry labs to search for reagent and chemicals...
p/s: May, i saw your dad today, in the morning =)

4 gimme more:

sorethroat..flu..wale...BURN!!!
i guess there were redness and blister? ethanol+ bunsen flame...'kao hoi' meh!!
but..emm...its somehow difficult to avoid as its odourless and colourless..right?

hehe...
your lab reminded me something...
the culture media you prepared will be used by me..if im in malaysia...is it simple to prepare it??you know lah...i don't need to learn how to prepare..you have to prepare and innoculate and see the groth...we need to err...know how to read your report?!lol...:S

how nice you can see my papa!!!!!
where you see him?
i din't see my papa and mama for months already..since i left during my last holidays...
haiz...
i din't see anyone for months le!!!
*frustrated!!!!

hmm..not to say very complicated la, but involves a lot of steps and stuff...cuz the part i was preparing was considered as small part only, some people prepared other parts...
yea, we also did the innoculating of the bacteria most of the time...haha, got a few times i broke the agar while transferring the bacteria =P

i saw your dad at the coffee shop opposite our high school...he was selling the plastic bags to the hawkers...hmm...he still look the same to me, it's a good thing =)
