what a BLAST!!

finally.....
i went to the jazz festival yesterday, it was a BLAST! whoooooooo~ i think i would probably regret if i never get to attend such amazing event..i've already missed it last year and i certainly don't want to miss this year.

apparently, yesterday was the busiest day during this holidays, got 2 organ lessons to attend, one was the replacement class and the other was the usual lesson. then soon after the 2nd lesson, i dashed home and prepared to go to this jazz festival...

of course i didn't go there alone, Dorothy was going with me too...both of us were like soooooo excited about it and we constantly talking and babbling about what we're going to encounter during the fest and stuff throughout the journey to Bayview Beach Resort, the place where the festival was held. *my dad was the one fetching us there, thanks dad :)
we bought the tickets at the lobby and yea, it was expensive eh, 50 dollars per entry. i was quite "sim thia" when i gave the 50 dollars note away....*sigh* and was hoping hard that the festival better to be a good....no.....a splendid one!

made our way to the resort garden, and wow, they got really tight security check man...the garden was being fenced off and they scanned the tickets, by using some kind of really canggih device before you entered. After we've entered, there were already quite a number of audience sitting at the lush green field, waiting for the show to begin. although in the brochure they mentioned that it was FREE STANDING, but indeed, all of us was being FREE SITTING. well, it's the way to enjoy jazz music right? especially along with the breezy wind by the seaside.....awww~ how romantic....no wonder i saw so many couples, local and foreign couples cuddling together while enjoying the show....sooooooooo sweeet~!!!

The TJBYTJC Winners

couple, couples everywhere.... :)

first up to perform were the TJBYTJC winners, The Jimmy Boyle Young Talent Jazz Competition winners. despite the fact that they were not as "popular" as the other performers, but they do bring up a really good show...isn't the guitarist is cute?? then it was followed by John Goldie, from Scotland, wow, for those who are into guitar, his playing is definitely a must-see!!!! i simply falling for his guitar plucking style.....so clear and strong and....full of dynamics...

Amazing John Goldie

Louise Soliano Quartet from Singapore was next...hahah, the main vocalist was also the drummer..which is an uncle in his mid 60, i guess. i didn't really notice that the drummer was an uncle until he suddenly walked into the front stage and began to sing...hehehe..according to dorothy, this group was the best...hmmm....but in my opinion, every groups/ performers has their own style and specialties. i wonder why all of the pianists performing tonight were all males? but....i think guys who play piano are very attractive leh....so cool and "yeng" but still remain the gentleness in them...hahah...guys, please take up piano lesson now!!

Louis Soliano Quartet (note: the pianist is a malaysian =)

after that they gave us a short break to pay the water bills...haizz, after i came back, our place already being seated by some people...so me and dorothy stood beside the stage where the crew and workers were standing...it was Nah Youn Sun's turn to perform. She is from korea and a great jazz singer too!!! her voice can goes from a very low pitch to a super duper high pitch within seconds and still manage to nail it perfectly!!! it was a really steady and mesmerizing performance and i really admire her talent...if only i got 20% of her singing ability, sigh again...

Nah Youn Sun

The audience, sitting at the field...so relaxed~

while she was performing, i saw a girl standing in front of me, and she was swaying and dancing...
and she is so pretty!!! from the first sight i already can guess that she's a korean....haha..and i was right! i think she is related to Nah Youn Sun....heee~

the girl...she was dancing when Nah sang in fast number..

oh yea, and the drummer was once again, i don't think "uncle" this term can be applied here, instead i should use "grandpa" to describe the drummer...yea, a grandpa like drummer...!!! cool eh?

the grandpa drummer :p

"OMG, dorothy..look!" while enjoying Nah's performance, i glanced around....and i saw a guy, a white cute guy standing beside the tennis court fence...he's so hot and cute...hahaha. he was wearing a tag so i thought he was one of the crews at the backstage...
erm, i curi curi glanced at him for don't know how many times...and dorothy thought i was outta my mind, LOL~

he's cute, ain't he?!?!?!?!?! (i'm not talking about the one on the left~~)

okay, then when Nah finished her performance, me and dorothy found a place in front of the stage, instead of sitting on the grass, we found ourselves sitting on a concrete floor...ahh, never mind, we were close enough to catch those performers in action this time...

Possicobilities was the next to take on the stage, this band consists of 5 members, 3 from China and 2 from USA. LOL, the lead singer looked so gayish and niang, and his outfit was....so omg!!
the violinist was cute too, but he looked a bit cocky. while performing, the wind kept blowing the music sheets in front of him to the floor...luckily he did his homework and manage to blow our mind away with his solo part....damn yeng!!
the pianist was an uncle, hahaha...but again i was stunned by his playing, especially his solo part. In fact, every member except the lead singer have their own solo part......i LOVE their solos!!!!
the bass player, which was one of the member from USA, played the bass....although i can't really see his face but i watched his playing at the big screen beside the stage....WOOOOW!! totally amazing....

The Possicobilities (the violinist is Peng Fei, the pianist is Huang Jianyi, the lead singer is Coco Zhao, the bass player is E.J Parker and last and definitely not least, the drummer, Chris Trzcinski!

"hey, isn't the drummer the cute guy you were talking about just now?" dorothy yelling hard to my ear....

OMG again, it was really him, the cute white guy i was drooling over since then...hahhaa...
i'm so pissed that my camera flashed the low batt signal and i couldn't record his solo part!!!! ARRGH~~!!! he's sooooo yao yeng while playing the drums...so energetic and captivating!!!
*FAINT*

the name is Chris Trzcinski ....hahaha..i still find it's hard to pronounce ...Chris what? who cares...i just wanna stare at him.....bluek~
actually dorothy suggested that i should go backstage after their performance to take photo with him, but too bad, they left soon after their performance. i just watched helplessly as they walked away....*sob sob*

the last band of the night was the Bangkok Connection from Thailand. The guitarist, called "Hank The Groove" was also an uncle with weird outfit...some Elvis kind of outfit...hahah!! there were 2 saxophonists, a drummer and a keyboard player.. although the Elvis like guitarist kinda stole most of the limelight, but my attention was at the 2 saxophonists. Cuz all this while i found all sax players possess some kind of aura that attracts me, strongly....in the middle of the instrumental performance, a ladies came to the stage and started to sing...

the crowd went crazy as this was the last band to perform, most of them was standing and dancing their hearts out, hahaha...of course i joined the crowd...heeee...the festival was stretched to another 30 minutes...as the crowd kept on requesting one and another by screaming "ENCORE! ENCORE!..."

Bangkok Connection

finally the first day of the 2-days festival ended perfectly at 11.40pm. i left the garden with a smile on my face... =)
thought my eardrums gonna exploded...i can't really hear well for 5 minutes after the show, so imagine the wildness and excitement of this jazz festival. my mum called and i asked her to wait at the lobby...

a must-do when dorothy's around ----- cam-whoring!
the favourite place for most girls to camwhore, washrooms with big big mirror, right?!

Dorothy and me, after the show...and i look kinda tired..

soon after that we took pics at the lobby, sitting at the cosy sofa and snap snap snap....then i suddenly saw my mum looking for me near the lif...so i walked to her direction and about to leave the hotel with dorothy.....until i......

saw Peng Fei, the violinist of the Possicobilities...and my instinct told me that Chris must be somewhere near by, so i once again glanced around, and OMG for the third time...
he was there!!!!
i was stunned...and i don't know what to do...haha..and dorothy sort of wake me up from dreaming, she asked me faster go over and take a pic with him. i was way ecstatic to see him again!
actually at first i was quite reluctant to do so, cuz there were also other members of the band and i don't want to make the situation awkward....by only taking photo with the drummer?!
without i realized, dorothy gently pushed me towards his direction...and it was so hilarious. i just walked to his place with a fast pace and hope to get it done and over it ASAP....

he was chatting with other 2 crews, then he stopped as he saw me...(so embarassing! someone please pass me a paper bag to cover my head!)
"can i take a photo with you?" luckily i didn't stumble and stammerred. i don't want to look like a complete idiot in front of him...grrr..
"yea sure..." he said with a smile that was enough to melt my heart....LOL...
actually i was very nervous during that moment...i can't even smile properly...my mouth sufferred from slight spasm...ahhhh, stupid me!
ish, dorothy snapped the first pic, and she said "one more".....clever her :p
then one of the crew asked me to stand closer, i guess i stood not close enough...haizzz....i can't smile properly and from the picture, obviously my smile looks so fake! but his smile....hahaha,
a million dollars smile man...hehehe...
after we finished taking pics, i thanked him and walked away with dorothy.
yea i know i know...i should have shake his hand or give him a hug (drooling~) before i go...
but i didn't and i shall slap myself to dead for that!!!

OMG!!!! what more can i say?!!

after that, all that we've experienced tonight already worth more than 50 dollars....i should say that it's priceless...hehe...
and i'm planning to go to this jazz festival again next year...anyone wanna go with me? =)

all i want for christmas is CHRIS TRZCINSKI!!!!

*slap* stop dreaming will you? :p
